Common Questions
Will it hurt or cause sensitivity?
For most clients, pain and sensitivity are minimal to none. Our whitening solution uses a concentration that does not require a gum protector, and clients apply vitamin E oil to the gums before treatment as an extra safeguard. If you already have sensitive teeth you may feel mild sensitivity, but major issues are extremely rare.
What results should I expect?
We guarantee an improvement of 2 to 8 shades. 97% of our clients see an average of 5 to 6 shades of difference, and many see even more dramatic results. Every set of teeth is different due to body chemistry, genetics, and dental health, but as long as your teeth and gums are healthy, you should see a great result in a single one-hour visit.
Is this the same treatment as Zoom or Brite Smile?
We use the same type of method as Zoom and Brite Smile. The difference is, we use a more advanced Beyond II whitening light and a plant based solution, which eliminates the need for a gum protector while still giving you the best results.
How does the treatment actually work?
A hydrogen peroxide based whitening agent is applied to your teeth, then our cold blue light activates it for 15 minutes at a time. We perform a Triple Treatment - three consecutive 15-minute sessions in one visit, about 45 minutes of actual whitening. Plan on giving yourself one hour at the office, and you will see the results immediately.
Why do this in-office instead of a home whitening kit?
With a home kit you have to do a treatment every day for up to 30 days before you see the result you want. An in-office treatment gives you visible results immediately after a single visit. We also include a home maintenance product for aftercare - a touch-up once or twice a month keeps your new smile bright much longer.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Research has shown that when teeth and gums are normal and healthy, there are no adverse effects from whitening. If you have tooth decay or gum disease, we recommend addressing that with your dentist first. As a standard precaution, we do not treat pregnant women, though no harmful effects are known.
